Onyema charges accountants to be objective, fair

The chairman of Air Peace Limited, Mr Allen Onyema has charged professional accountants to deepen their commitment to focal values of objectivity and fairness while discharging their duties.

Onyema gave the charge in his speech at the opening of the 28th Annual National Conference of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) 28th Annual National Conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Onyema, who chaired the event, also called for improved standards of integrity and professional excellence for national development.

He further enjoined professional accountants to build excellence by honing their skills in line with evolving digital trends and innovative practices.

Onyema who is also the national chairman of his Foundation for Ethnic Harmony in Nigeria (FEHN), used the forum to hammer home the message that there is the need for a harmonious co-existence across religious and ethnic divide for a more habitable and valuable society.

In addition he emphasised broad nationalism as fundamental to the realisation of a peaceful country.

On the surge in youth talent migration, Onyema advised Nigerian youths to grow their capacity locally and commit to deploying their creative energies by optimising the nation’s vast social and economic potential for their personal development and national good.
