The vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Monday presided over a special session of the federal executive council meeting at the State House, Abuja.
NewsGazette learnt that the meeting was convened to ensure that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration covers all the necessary grounds before the expiration of its term and handover to the in-coming government on May 29, 2023.
The meeting holding at the Council Chambers is expected to consider a total of 37 memos from ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
Present at the special session were the secretary to the government of the federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, the head of civil service of the federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan and the national security adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd).

Also in attendance were the ministers of interior, Rauf Aregbesola; science and technology, Dr Olorunimbe Mamora; finance, budget and national planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed; transportation, Mr. Mu’azu Sambo; health, Dr Osagie Ehanire; communication and digital economy, Prof. Isa Pantami; sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika, environment, Mr. Mohammed Abdullahi; works and housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola; FCT, Mr. Mohammed Bello, foreign affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama; attorney general and minister of justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, women affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen; Education, Adamu Adamu; humanitarian affairs, social development and disaster management, Mrs. Sadiya Farouk, police affairs, Mr. Maigari Dingyadi and Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana Umana.
Also present were the ministers of state for industry, trade and investment, Ms Mariam Katagum; foreign affairs, Mr. Zubairu Dada; labour and employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo, education, Mr. Goodluck Opiah.
