The 25th edition of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) Annual Conference will be held with over 250 persons in virtual and physical participation.
Secretary of the conference committee, Mr. Albinus Chiedu, who disclosed this in a statement said the event which holds at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, on July 28, 2021, has as its theme ‘Nigeria Aviation Industry: Management, Policy and Regulation.’

He added that participants will cut across the aviation agencies, security agencies, international and domestic airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, travel trade sellers and buyers, among others.
Chiedu said the event would provide the opportunity for aviation experts and professionals to speak on critical issues affecting the growth of the industry.
He also disclosed that the minister of aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika and the chief executive officer of West Link Airlines, Capt. Ibrahim Mshelia, would be guest of honour and chairman respectively.
Besides, the chairman, governing council of Nigeria Aviation Safety Initiative (NASI), Capt. Dung Pam; chairman, Association of Ground Handlers (AGHAN) , Mr. Olaniyi Adigun and general manager, Total Nigeria Plc, Mr. Rabiu Abdulmutalib would deliver papers while the director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA),Capt. Musa Nuhu would give the keynote address on the theme.
“While the ministry of aviation has indicated interest to be part of the event, all the aviation agencies, including: NCAA, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria (AIB-N), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria and Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) have equally expressed their desire to be fully involved in the one day conference and awards,” he added.
The conference secretary also listed the chairman and chief executive officer of Air Peace, Mr. Mr. Allen Onyema, the managing director of Med-View Airline, Mr. Muneer Bankole, the chief executive officers of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (Nahcoaviance) Plc, and Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, Mrs. Olatokunbo Fagbemi and Mr. Basil Agboarumi, respectively as among those who would be physically present.
For the awards, Chiedu said four organisations and an individual would be honoured at the event.
They are the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Bi-Courtney Aviation Company Ltd (BASL) which operates the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2, Air Peace, Ethiopian Airlines and the commissioner/chief executive officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria (AIB-N), Mr. Akin Olateru,
The committee said all the COVID-19 protocols as laid down by the NCAA and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) would be strictly observed.
