Eighty-four out of the 1,251 graduating students of the Nile University of Nigeria (NUN), Abuja have bagged first-class degrees.
The vice chancellor of the institution, Prof. Dilli Dogo, disclosed this on Tuesday at the 11th convocation of NUN in Abuja.
He also said 203 will graduate with second class upper, 229 with second class lower and 10 with pass degrees.
Dogo also announced that of the 632 post-graduate students, 45 will be awarded doctor of philosophy.
So far, the vice chancellor said the employability skills of the graduates which must remain topmost on the list of services offered by the school had been institutionalised.
“Employability of graduates as of today stands at 60 per cent globally. The enrolment quota has increased in the institution from 50-100 per cent. In the coming session, we will admit 195 medical students and this has been institutionalised,” he added.
Dogo also disclosed that business mogul, Dr Mohammed Indimi and a former minister of health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, would be awarded honorary degrees in oil and petroleum engineering, as well as in medical sciences respectively.
