As man stabs brother to death during marital squabble
Suspected robbers, on Wednesday, shot and killed a pregnant lawyer, Mrs. Nkiru Agbasu on the Warri-Sapele highway in Delta State.
The deceased, it was gathered, was returning to Warri from Sapele when the incident occurred.
It was gathered that the robbers shot at the car conveying the lawyer and she was fatally hit by a bullet and died before help could come her way.
She was said to be the only passenger, who died in the incident.
The chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Warri branch, Mr. Emmanuel Uti, confirmed the incident to journalists.
“It is true. She was on her way from Sapele. It was an armed robbery incident on the road and they shot at car conveying her. She was hit by a bullet.
“We only got to know around 5pm. So, maybe, it happened between the afternoon and the evening.”
Also in Delta State, man, identified as Daniel Agbayigolo, was stabbed to death by his younger brother in Ughoton community, in the Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to Punch, the incident happened on Monday, February 15 when the deceased went to settle a dispute between his younger brother and the wife.
“Daniel went to settle a quarrel between his younger brother and the wife. Unfortunately, his younger brother stabbed him to death. A doctor confirmed him dead at a hospital,” said a source.
Spokesman for the state police command, Mr. Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident.
However, he said the suspect had gone into hiding.
“It is true, but the suspect has gone into hiding; our men are on top of the situation,” he added.
