The minister of aviation and aerospace, Mr. Hadi Sirika, desperately wants to ensure there is something on the ground as evidence that the Nigeria Air project which he conceived some seven years ago is a reality.
Consequently, he is alleged to have made a deal with his associates in Ethiopian Airlines to repaint two of its aircraft for a static display at the launch of Nigeria Air taking place in Abuja today.
Dignitaries, including lawmakers, presidency officials, stakeholders in the aviation industry, business moguls, members of the diplomatic corps as well as traditional rulers were invited for the launch.
