Stakeholders in the aviation industry will brainstorm on ‘Aviation industry: Changing times, changing strategies’ at the 27th edition of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents’ (LAAC) conference holding at Providence Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos on July 27, 2023.
The chairman and the secretary of the conference committee, Messrs Chinedu Eze and Albinus Chiedu, said in a statement in Lagos that over 250 participants will be expected at the annual event.
They said the theme was carefully selected in view of the emerging changes in the approach to aviation business as regard technology, airline management and operations, financing and other aspects of aviation.
They further said the conference would feature presentations by speakers and a panel session to address issues bedeviling the sector in line with the theme.
“Over 250 aviation industry professionals, cutting across the aviation, security agencies, international and domestic airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, travel trade sellers and buyers in the country’s aviation industry are expected to participate in the conference.
“Many key players in the sector have already confirmed their participation in this all important conference,” they said.
The professionals include the director general, Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Mr. Akin Olateru, the director general, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt Musa Nuhu, the director general, Prof. Mansur Matazu, the managing director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Mr. Matthew Pwajok, the managing director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, and the rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Capt Alkali Madibbo.
The others are the group managing director, Finchglow Travels Mr. Bernard Bankole, the president, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI), Mr. Gabriel Olowo, the chairman, Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, and the chairman, United Nigeria Airlines, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, among others.
LAAC is Nigeria’s aviation media umbrella that reports the aviation industry.
Over the years, the annual conference has made unquantifiable impact on Nigeria’s aviation sector by throwing up policy, management and operational issues for public discussion.
