Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been cleared by the team’s medical doctor for the clash against South Africa.
Recall that Osimhen missed the Super Eagles trip to Bouake – the venue of the semi-final clash with South Africa – after suffering abdominal discomfort.
It was gathered from sources in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire where the African Nations Cup (AFCON) championship is taking place that the striker was already off to Bouake after being declared fit by the medical team.
The 25-year-old has started in all of Super Eagles’ five matches in Cote d’Ivoire, scoring one goal and chalking up one assist.
He has been the standout performer at the finals with his impressive work rate, pressing high on defenders and forcing turnovers, running off the ball into space and keeping it up for the entire game despite the soaring heat and humidity. Those in the stands have marvelled at his fitness and fight.
