The minister of state petroleum resources (gas), Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo has congratulated the president, Mr Bola Tinubu, his deputy, Mr Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress (APC) saying the Supreme Court’s judgement upholding the election of the president is victory to democracy and the Nigerian people who cast their votes for him.

The minister stated this in a release issued by his media aide, Mr Louis Ibah.

The statement reads: “The unanimous judgment by the Justices of the apex court has put a seal of authority on the overwhelming victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON, and the APC made possible by majority of Nigerian voters during the February 25, 2023 presidential poll.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Your Excellencies and the APC winner of the February 25 presidential poll based on the popular votes of Nigerians, validated by the  Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal (PEPT), and  confirmed  today by the revered Justices of the Supreme Court.

“On behalf of the management and staff of the ministry of petroleum resources (gas), I pray the Almighty God to endow Your Excellencies with the wisdom and strength to continue to pilot the affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to ensure total realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Recall that seven-member panel of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Inyang Okoro had on Thursday October26 affirmed the election of Tinubu as Nigeria’s president in the February 25, 2023 election.

The judgement brought to an end a legal challenge brought by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) Messrs Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively.
