The former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has advised the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rethink its plan to suspend the minister of the FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike.

Recall that the spokesman for the Atiku/PDP presidential campaign organisation in the 2023 general elections, Mr Daniel Bwala had said on Channels Television interview that Wike would be expelled from the party at the appropriate time.

He said there is no big deal about a member of the PDP working for the government controlled by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Believe me, the quietness of the party is not weakness. For everyone who is listening and sees what he is doing and the party is quiet about it, it is not a weakness. The party knows what it is doing.

“At the appropriate time, he would not only be suspended but expelled. Take that to the bank,” he said.

In his response, Fayose said suspending Wike would be at the part’s peril.

Fayose who also spoke on Channel’s Television said people were calling for Wike’s suspension without thinking about the wider implications.

are baying for while speaking on Channels TV Hard Copy, said the PDP should

“Some people say fight Wike, expel Wike, sack Wike. I think they do that at their own peril.

“You see, the first thing in your family, even when you have extreme situations or differences, is not to drive away your wife or husband. Wike is a force in the PDP and beyond the PDP, a force you cannot ignore.

“Ignore Wike, sack Wike, or fight Wike at your own peril. He is a man of capacity.”

Fayose also urged the party to call for reconciliation to restore the party and move it forward.

“My advice is for the party to call for true submission, where everyone will come and bear their mind, tell them what went wrong, and how we can move the party forward,” he said.
