President Bola Tinubu has approved an extension of the tenure of the comptroller-general of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Mrs Kemi Nandap,
Presidential spokesman, Mr Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a release on Monday.
Nandap, who joined the in 1989, was appointed as NIS CG on March 1, 2024, with her tenure set to expire in August 2025.
Onanuga said Nandap’s tenure was being extended to December 31, 2026.
The presidential aide said the NIS has “witnessed significant advancements” under the leadership of Nandap.
“President Tinubu commended the Comptroller-General for her exemplary leadership and urged her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in fulfilling its mandate to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promote safe, legal, and orderly migration,” the statement said.
