UNA signs MoU for flight operations to Bayelsa Airport

United Nigeria Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bayelsa State government to commence scheduled direct flights to the Bayelsa International Airport.

According to the agreement signed in Yenagoa yesterday, the airline will operate daily flights to the airport from the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

It also stated that the carrier would start with four daily flights in and out of Bayelsa Airport from July 2021.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, the state governor, Mr. Douye Diri said with flights coming into Bayelsa, the people will begin to reap the benefits of the government’s investment in infrastructure.

He also said the airport would open Bayelsa not only to Nigeria but also to the world.

He said UNA was chosen as partner because of its efficiency and quality of service.

In his response, the executive director and chief operating officer of the airline, Mr. Osita Okonkwo, expressed his appreciation to the government and the state for choosing UNA and assured that the airline will continue to offer the quality service that it renowned for.
