UNIZIK honours Air Peace chairman, Allen Onyema, with ‘Benefactor Award’

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State, has bestowed a Benefactor Award on the chairman of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema.

Spokesman for the airline, Mr. Stanley Olisa said in a statement on Thursday that the award was given in recognition of Onyema’s “outstanding contributions towards the development of the hospital.”

He added that award was announced during the recent commissioning of hospital’s permanent site recently.

In his reaction, the statement quoted Onyema as expressing gratitude to the board and management of tertiary hospital and noting that his contribution to the health institution was his own way of helping the society.

He stressed the need for corporate bodies and individuals to engage in corporate social responsibility projects capable of impacting Nigerians.

“It is our collective responsibility to advance the cause of humanity and I urge organisations and individuals to contribute to developing our nation through strategic CSR interventions. This is what Air Peace is doing and will continue to do for societal advancement,” he added.

It would be recalled that the airline operator donated 550 KVA power generating set to the teaching hospital in 2019 as part of his contribution to supporting the federal government’s drive to uplift the standard of healthcare delivery in the country.
