The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday appealed to all Lagos residents, especially the Igbo community to vote for the party in the February 23 and March 9 elections.

Tinubu who made the appeal in an address to the party’s supporters at the party’s Ikeja secretariat in Ikeja warned that APC would monitor election results in Igbo-dominated areas such as Amuwo-Odofin, Ojo, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, and Surulere.

He said Lagos could decide to behave in a way that would not favour the visitors should they fail to support the party.

“We are in this together. We will know how many votes we will get from Ojo, Alaba, Surulere, Amuwo-Odofin, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, including Oshodi. We don’t discriminate as we allow people do their businesses.

“We appeal to our Igbo brothers from the East that this is the state where you conduct your business; your children are in our schools; we don’t discriminate against them in our WAEC fees. We don’t discriminate against them in our NECO fees.

“We don’t discriminate against them in JAMB fees; even in our universities, they take the benefit of our tuition and allowances and all that. Now this time, we say help us, vote for us and our candidates,” he said.

It would be recalled that in the 2015 elections, the APC lost some legislative seats to the PDP in the areas mentioned, although some of the winners later defected to the APC.

He reminded the Igbo that he had been instrumental in helping them grow their business, and at some critical times, saved such businesses like the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) business districts from and stressed that the time was ripe to reciprocate such kind gestures.“I am the one who saved ASPAMDA from demolition. They are now x-rating our candidates and doing what they want, and robbing insult on an injury, we know how to behave. We know how to behave,” he said.
