The chairman of Air Peace, Mr Allen Onyema, has said that the 15 per cent discount for Nigerian students flying the airline and studying in the UK was borne out of the desire to reduce the financial burden on the people, especially parents who have to pay high ticket fares for their children to come back home during holidays.
Onyema also said the initiative was meant to enable indigent students, especially the ones on scholarship in the UK, afford flight tickets back to Nigeria.
He disclosed this at the Silverbird Man of the Year Awards held in Lagos recently wherein he presented return tickets to London to six Nigerians.
The six Nigerians emerged winners of a raffle draw sponsored by the airline.
The raffle draw, facilitated by Onyema, was one of the major highlights of the prestigious award event.
Onyema, who congratulated the winners, said they would join the airline’s inaugural flight to London on March 30, 2024, adding that the airline would also process their visas for them.
Recall that the airline is gearing up for the commencement of its London flights on March 30, 2024.
It announced low fares of N1.2 million for the economy class return ticket, N4 million for return business ticket and a 15 per cent discount for Nigerians studying in the United Kingdom.
