A fashion faux pas is one of the biggest sartorial sins one can make when getting dressed. Whether it’s wearing something that should be ironed, well, non-ironed or allowing your underwear to show through the outfit, a fashion faux pas can ruin an otherwise on-point outfit.

Wike

The former governor of Rivers state, Mr. Nyesom Wike is currently the talk of the town after suffering fashion faus pas during a visit to Aso Rock on June 8.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) former G-5 members met with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa on June 8. Former governors Samuel Ortom, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu of Benue, Enugu and Abia states respectively; Wike and the sitting governor of Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde were in attendance.

The G-5 leader, Wike, became the centre of attention due to an unintentional incorrect buttoning of his suit.

Shettima

In August 2022, the choice of outfit won by the current vice president, Mr. Kashim Shettima (he was not elected then), to the Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBA) 62nd annual general conference holding in Lagos, generated reactions from social media users.

Shettima, who represented his boss, President Bola Tinubu (he was not president at that time) dressed in a black suit and red tie, accompanied by a pair of gym shoes. His dressing stirred reactions from netizens.

Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari’s in ill-fitting trousers during a working visit to Imo State in September 2021 literally set the social media ablaze. He had visited the southeastern state to inaugurate four projects completed by the state governor, Mr. Hope Uzodinma administration.

The president donned ‘Isiagu’ top on cream-coloured-trousers.

However, the fitting and length of the president’s bogus trousers were short as the bottom hem of the cloth was high above the president’s ankle.
