TheBi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operator of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), has assured Muslims and other travelers of maximum safety and security within and around the airport facility during and after the Eid-El Kabir celebration.
The terminal manager gave the assurance in its Eid-El Kabir message to the Muslim faithful.
The statement signed by the spokesperson for BASL, Mr. Oluwatosin Onalaja, also said the terminal manager “is working on the introduction of on-time-performance, an initiative that will promote accountability and reward promptness for airlines’ activities.
He said the OTP would be provided in addition to the existing customer care programme.
Onalaja explained that an airline is considered OTP compliant, when it is able to operate its scheduled flights timeously.
He said BASL had continued to invest heavily in infrastructure maintenance, and human capital development of its workforce, to promote and sustain the safety and security of lives and property within and around the airport terminal.
“We are in the aviation business, a highly regulated and specialized industry. To achieve success in this space, modern infrastructure is key. Consistent maintenance is yet another face that must be heavily invested in.
“On safety and security, we have a very large Aviation Security Team, who we continue to train and retrain.
In addition to these professional trainings, we have also leveraged the expertise of the country’s various law enforcement agencies like the Police, the Air Force, and the DSS for joint drilling and training,” he said.
Onalaja said BASL would continue to provide additional operational support to all the airlines and other statutory regulatory agencies operating within the MMA2 to ease the burdens of flight delays and cancellations.
