COVID-19 resurfaces as NCDC records five fresh cases in Rivers, Lagos

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that it recorded five new COVID-19 infections from February 25 to March 31.

The agency said in its latest situation report yesterday that four of the cases were recorded in Rivers, while one was recorded in Lagos.

According to the agency, 266,665 cases have been confirmed up to date, 259,951 patients discharged and 3,155 deaths recorded in 36 states and the federal capital territory.

“The five new cases are reported from two states – Rivers (4) and Lagos (1), four states with zero cases reported are Abia, Kaduna, Kano, and Nasarawa.

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” it said.

Meanwhile, the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) said on Friday that 71,183,637 of the total eligible persons targeted have been fully vaccinated, while 11,871,959 have been partially vaccinated.
