As Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts in other parts of the world to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, the minister of state for petroleum resources (gas), Mr Ekperikpe Ekpo has enjoined them to pray for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria.
The minister gave the charge in a good goodwill message to Muslim faithful.
In as statement issued by his special adviser on media, Mr Louis Ibah in Abuja on Wednesday, the minister noted that while the Prophet was alive, he devoted his life “building strength and understanding among people, maintaining his faith as well as according respect to other faiths.’
“I thank Almighty God for making us see this glorious day set aside to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad in 2023.
“As we mark this day, let us remember, cherish and imbibe the virtues of patience, love, tolerance and perseverance that Prophet Muhammad exemplified,” the minister said.
