NCDC confirms 22 new COVID-19 cases, toll stands at 276

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night confirmed twenty-two new cases of the coronavirus disease in the country bringing the total confirmed cases to 276.

The public health agency announced this on its twitter page

According to it, 15 of the cases are in Lagos, 4 in the FCT, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Edo.

“As at 09:00pm 8th April, there are 276 confirmed cases of  coronavirus reported in Nigeria.

“Forty-four have been discharged with six deaths.

“Breakdown of the cases as at 09:00 pm 8th April, shows there are 276 confirmed cases, 44 discharged, 6 deaths.

Meanwhile, Lagos which is the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria records 145 cases, followed by the FCT with 54; Osun, 20; Edo, 12; Oyo,11; Bauchi, 8; Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, 5 each; Ogun, 4; Enugu, Ekiti, Rivers, Kwara, 2 each; Benue, Ondo, Delta and Katsina, 1 case each.
