The Peoples Democratic announced on Tuesday the appointment of the senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, as the director of campaign to the party’s candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Mr. Atiku Abubakar.
Spokesman for the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan confirmed Saraki’s appointment as the director general of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation in Abuja on Tuesday.
Atiku who emerged the party’s flag bearer at its elective convention held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on October 29-30, defeated 11 other contestants, including Saraki to clinch the ticket.
After his emergence, the other aspirants pledged their support to work with him for the 2019 polls.
The regional coordinators are the Sokoto State governor, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal (North-west); Ebonyi State governor, Mr. David Umahi (South-East), Gombe State governor, Mr. Ibrahim Dankwambo (North-East), Rivers State governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike (South-South), Benue State governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom (North-Central) while the former Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose is in charge of the South-West zone.
